Stand for Life in South Carolina — Pass the Human Life Protection Act Now
Every child, born and unborn, bears the image of God and deserves the most basic human right — the right to life. Yet right now in South Carolina, the most vulnerable among us are not protected by law. Thousands of unborn children lose their lives each year, and with every day that passes without action, that number grows.
The Human Life Protection Act (H.3457) is a clear, principled response. It protects unborn life beginning at the moment of conception, with an exception only to save the life of the mother. This bill is rooted in the belief that all human life has value and dignity — not because of circumstance, ability, or age, but because every life is created with purpose.
This isn’t just a moral issue — it’s a legislative one. Although South Carolina’s House of Representatives has passed this bill before, it has yet to become law. In the wake of Roe v. Wade being overturned, we now have both the authority and the responsibility to act. Other states have already passed similar laws. South Carolina should be leading the way — not lagging behind.
And now, the clock is ticking. The 2025 legislative session ends next week, with the General Assembly adjourning sine die. That means if this bill doesn’t move forward now, it could be delayed another year. More unborn lives will be lost. More opportunities for leadership and courage will slip away.
We can’t let that happen.
We, the undersigned, call on Republican leadership in the South Carolina House — and every member who believes in protecting the innocent — to act before the end of this session. We urge you to prioritize life, pass the Human Life Protection Act, and make South Carolina a state that boldly defends the unborn.
